Although the hike itself was really tough, we enjoyed it immensely. Everything was well organized. We did the hike in a small group of 5 travelers (the Trululu\u2019s)  which was really nice, as we really got to bond with eachother during the tour. Our tour guide (Gabriel) was friendly and knowledgeable, our translator (Pilar) was energetic and brought a very positive energy, and our cook (Jes\u00fas) took perfect care of us every day. We would highly recommend everyone to book this tour through Expotur. Enough guides to go with the fast or slower groups. The weather was perfect in May. At every camp there was filtered water or you can buy it at the shop. They warned if there is heavy rain, the filtered water might not be safe. I bought all my water and electrolytes at every camp. The food was good every day and nice camps to sleep in a bunk bed. This was the best memory of 4 weeks of solo backpacking in Colombia. The jungle is beautiful, the distances you walk each day are very manageable, and the camps where you stay are comfortable! Arriving at the city on the third day is a wonderful reward. I was very happy to do this tour with Expotur. We had a really fun group, our guide and translator were friendly, enjoyable to be around, and very good at their jobs, and the same goes for the cook \u2014 we ate very well. The landscapes along the way are incredible, including the mountains, the river and the waterfalls. The last steps to reach the top are only a motivation, once at the top all the fatigue disappears, the place is full of magic, and the history told by our guides absolutely matches the vibes. This trip could be a race against yourself and the satisfaction of reaching the destination is over the clouds of La Sierra Nevada. The hike can be challenging at times, so you should have a general level of fitness, but honetly, it makes completing it much more rewarding.
